Senior Software Engineer, Core Reliability

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Core Reliability to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will focus on strengthening the reliability, resiliency, and scalability of critical production systems that support a high-volume financial technology environment. You will own design and delivery of reliability initiatives, working closely with service teams to improve system behavior, deployment safety, and operational stability. The position also involves building secure configuration and secret management solutions, as well as enhancing release processes that help reduce incidents during large-scale deployments.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $191,100+ annually

Responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of reliability projects to improve system resiliency
• Collaborate with service teams to understand architecture and improve scalability
• Build and manage systems for secure configuration and secret management
• Enhance canary release systems to support high-volume deployments with minimal incidents
• Drive reliability best practices and help foster a strong reliability culture across teams

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in production services within service-oriented architectures
• Proficiency in Ruby, Go, Terraform, and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Experience designing reliable, low-latency distributed systems at scale with a focus on well-tested code
• Familiarity with observability tools such as Kibana and Datadog for monitoring and debugging
• Strong communication skills for presenting architecture decisions to cross-functional stakeholders
• Ability to participate in on-call rotations for after-hours troubleshooting
• Demonstrated responsible use of generative AI to improve workflow efficiency
