Senior Software Engineer, Events Platform (Remote)

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Events Platform (Remote) to join the team of a leader in the Food & Beverages space.

This role will help build and evolve shared backend capabilities that support critical business operations across the organization.

You will partner closely with product, security, and engineering teams to solve complex workflow and platform challenges, with an emphasis on reliability, developer efficiency, and scalable service delivery.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in backend systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and observability, along with a strong self-service mindset in a fast-moving technology environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $158,000 – $190,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Build internal developer platforms and shared services to enhance core capabilities
• Design reliable backend systems for critical business operations
• Collaborate with product, security, and engineering teams to define challenges and deliver high-quality solutions
• Ensure product quality through robust testing and observability practices
• Adopt a self-service mindset to enhance developer efficiency and minimize repetitive tasks

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, specifically with backend systems and APIs
• Proficiency in Go programming language
• Strong background in cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, service mesh tools such as Istio, Terraform, and CI/CD systems
• Comfort handling workflow orchestration and operational complexity
• Familiarity with observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana
• Experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka, Flink, or Kinesis
• Ability to build shared platform capabilities that serve multiple teams or products
