Senior Software Engineer Guest & Host

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer Guest & Host to join the team of a leader in the Business Services space.

This role will focus on designing and building backend services that strengthen identity, privacy, and authorization capabilities across a large-scale platform. You will help evolve core data-access patterns, support complex migrations away from legacy approaches, and partner closely with adjacent engineering teams to improve usability and correctness. The work will require thoughtful technical judgment, especially in high-stakes design reviews and production issue resolution.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $135,000 – $160,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend services and APIs for identity and privacy enforcement
• Contribute to large-scale migrations from legacy identity patterns
• Define and evolve authorization logic for context-scoped data access
• Partner with teams to ensure usability of privacy primitives
• Participate in design and code reviews to enhance codebase correctness
• Debug and resolve production issues with structured root-cause analysis

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend software engineering experience
• Strong fundamentals in service-oriented architecture and API design
• Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin
• Experience with microservices environments and RPC frameworks
• Track record of shipping migrations with attention to backward compatibility
• Strong written communication skills
• Ability to navigate ambiguity in technical design
