Senior Software Engineer (Java + Agentic AI)

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our strategic transformation program building an Agentic AI Orchestration Platform for mortgage origination and fulfillment. This is a high-ownership role. You will be the point of contact for end-to-end delivery from understanding business requirements to designing, building, and deploying production-ready full stack solutions. You will work closely with architects, product managers, and business stakeholders to translate complex mortgage workflows into intelligent, agent-driven systems.

You'll build AI agents that automate loan processing, document review, andQC/audit workflows along with the modern React frontends that users interact with. This is hands-ontechnical leadership where you own outcomes, not just tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Ownership:

Own features from requirements through production understand the businessproblem, design the solution, implement backend services and frontend UI, and ensure it works in production.

• Full Stack Development:

Build complete solutions backend microservices, REST/GraphQL APIs, AI agentimplementations, and modern React/Next.js user interfaces.

• Business Requirements Translation:

Work directly with product and business stakeholders to understandmortgage domain workflows and translate them into technical solutions.

• AI Agent Development:

Design and implement autonomous AI agents using AWS AgentCore/Bedrock fordocument processing, workflow orchestration, and loan audit automation.

• Integration Development:

Build integrations with LOS systems (Encompass, LendingPad, Cadence), documentprocessing vendors (Ocrolus), and third-party service providers.

• AI-Assisted Development:

Leverage AI tools (Kiro, Bedrock, etc.) to accelerate development and maintain highvelocity without sacrificing quality.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• 8-12 years of hands-on software engineering experience with a proven track record of delivering end-to-end full stack solutions.
• Strong experience building both backend services and frontend applications.
• Hands-on AI/ML experience, including LLM integration, prompt engineering, and agent-based systems.
• Expertise in AWS cloud-native development and modern application architectures.
• Strong API design and integration experience using REST, GraphQL, and webhooks.
• Ability to understand business requirements, ask the right questions, and translate domain knowledge into scalable technical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in mortgage, fintech, or financial services domains.
• Exposure to AI agent frameworks such as AWS AgentCore, LangChain Agents, AutoGen, or similar platforms.
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as AWS Step Functions, Temporal, and state machine patterns.
• Prior experience as a Tech Lead or Senior Individual Contributor with end-to-end ownership of product features.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Kiro, or similar solutions.

What the Engineer Will Build

• Document Processing Agent: Integration with Ocrolus for automated document classification and OCR processing.
• Order Management UI: React-based portal for managing loan order workflows.
• QC & Audit Automation: AI-powered loan review, quality control, and defect classification solutions.
• LOS Integrations: Adapters and integrations with Encompass, LendingPad, and Cadence platforms.
• Self-Service Portal: Client-facing workflows for exception handling and operational efficiency.
• Automated Reporting: Audit, compliance, and operational report generation capabilities.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Strong Full Stack Engineer with AI/ML expertise and AWS cloud experience.
• Proven ability to build production-grade applications from concept to deployment.
• Comfortable working directly with business stakeholders and converting requirements into solutions.
• Prior exposure to mortgage technology, loan processing workflows, or financial services is a strong advantage.
