Senior Software Engineer, ML Enablement

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, ML Enablement to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space.

This role will focus on building the infrastructure that supports machine learning model training and serving at scale. You will partner closely with Applied Scientists and other engineering stakeholders to improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency across production systems. The work will span backend engineering, cloud infrastructure, and LLM serving support in a fast-moving consumer technology environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $164,000 – $246,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Write high-quality, production-grade Python code and participate in code reviews
• Build and improve infrastructure for training and serving ML models on GCP and Kubernetes
• Design and maintain serving infrastructure for open-source and internal LLMs
• Apply ML fundamentals to make informed infrastructure decisions
• Collaborate with Applied Scientists to streamline model training and serving workflows
• Contribute to system design discussions, balancing performance, cost, and reliability
• Utilize generative AI tools to enhance productivity and learning

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Statistics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience building and troubleshooting complex backend systems
• Strong software engineering skills with proficiency in Python and understanding of algorithms and data structures
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud and Kubernetes for production workloads
• Familiarity with observability tools for monitoring distributed systems
• Knowledge of machine learning fundamentals and LLM serving infrastructure
• Basic understanding of transformer architectures and their impact on serving infrastructure
