Senior Software Engineer - NBA

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer - NBA to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a healthcare environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $106,900 – $147,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain state machines for lifecycle transitions
• Ensure state machines are deterministic, reproducible, and testable
• Architect and manage transactional state stores as the single source of truth
• Implement robust idempotency controls for safe request handling
• Employ the outbox pattern for atomic state updates and event publication
• Design systems for correctness amidst concurrent updates and partial failures
• Leverage AI tools for automating state transition tests and refining code quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
• 6+ years of experience in backend or platform engineering
• Hands-on expertise with state machine modeling and lifecycle management
• Experience with transactional state stores
• In-depth understanding of exactly-once processing and failure modes in distributed environments
• Proficiency in contemporary programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools for enhancing productivity
