Senior Software Engineer (Platform Core)

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Platform Core) to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role will focus on building and operating core backend platform services that power high-volume customer interactions. You will own work across the full lifecycle, from identifying problems and designing solutions through implementation, deployment, and ongoing support. The position partners closely with Product, SRE, and engineering teams to improve reliability, scalability, and performance across shared systems.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $130,000 – $170,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Design and operate distributed backend services and APIs for high-volume customer interactions
• Own platform work from problem identification through implementation and support
• Improve reliability, scalability, and latency across shared platform systems
• Collaborate with Product, SRE, and engineering teams to deliver seamless platform improvements
• Participate in on-call duties and incident management to maintain system stability and performance
• Strengthen engineering standards through code reviews, documentation, and mentorship

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of experience building backend services and APIs in production
• Proficiency in Python and/or Go
• Experience with distributed systems and cloud-native development using AWS and/or GCP
• Strong production ownership experience, including deployment and troubleshooting of high-scale services
• In-depth knowledge of data and messaging technologies such as PostgreSQL, Aurora, Redis, and RabbitMQ
