Senior Software Engineer – Python / Test Automation / DevOps / HIL

We are currently partnered with an early-stage technology organisation developing robotics and autonomous systems, with a growing engineering team focused on building reliable, scalable, and safety-critical technology. They are looking to hire several Senior Software Engineers to build the internal systems, developer tooling, test automation, and infrastructure that enable the wider engineering organisation to deliver with speed, quality, and confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop production-quality Python software across automation, internal tooling, and supporting infrastructure
• Build and maintain end-to-end test automation frameworks and suites
• Develop hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing environments and supporting automation
• Design maintainable internal systems that improve engineering reliability and software quality
• Build tooling that surfaces failures clearly and supports effective debugging and resolution
• Work closely with real products, hardware, and operational behaviour
• Contribute to the engineering infrastructure and developer environment supporting scalable delivery
• Spend the majority of your time designing, writing, testing, and improving production-quality code

Key requirements

• 4+ years of professional Python development experience
• Strong experience building production-quality Python software
• Comfortable working in Linux-heavy development environments
• Experience in backend software engineering, developer tooling, engineering tooling, DevOps tooling, or test automation
• Strong interest in end-to-end testing and software quality
• Quality-first approach to building systems and engineering environments that remain reliable as they scale
• Ability to work effectively with complex engineering systems and real-world product behaviour
• Experience developing Python-based test automation or engineering/developer tooling
