Senior Software Engineer, Site Reliability Engineering

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Site Reliability Engineering to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space.

This role will help shape the reliability, scalability, and operational maturity of a cloud-based engineering platform that supports teams across the organization. You will design and improve systems that keep production services resilient, observable, and performant in a fast-paced consumer technology environment. The position also partners closely with engineering teams to strengthen deployment practices, troubleshoot complex issues, and anticipate capacity needs before they affect users.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $180,200 – $233,200 annually

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain software and systems that improve service availability and scalability.
• Set architectural direction for infrastructure and platform services.
• Implement tools and processes for deployment and infrastructure management.
• Troubleshoot and debug critical systems throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Contribute to the evolution of engineering capabilities as a platform organization.
• Conduct capacity planning and demand forecasting to anticipate performance bottlenecks.
• Participate in rotating on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Extensive fluency in AWS and Linux.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and debugging production code.
• Expertise in large-scale distributed systems and web technologies, including DNS, TLS, HTTP/S, and TCP/IP.
• Strong problem decomposition skills with an understanding of tradeoffs.
• 5 years of experience in managing infrastructure and systems.
• Knowledge of operating and observing microservices in a cloud environment.
• Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
