Senior Software Engineer - Storefront Services Team

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Storefront Services Team to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space.

This role will focus on building and evolving backend services that power a modern commerce storefront experience. You will partner closely with product managers and senior engineers to translate requirements into strong technical designs, improve reliability, and support new AI-enabled shopping capabilities.

The position also involves extending GraphQL APIs, maintaining backward compatibility, and resolving production issues through careful debugging, performance tuning, and service hardening.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $116,000 – $195,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain features for the company's storefront services
• Extend GraphQL API queries while ensuring backward compatibility
• Evolve service architecture to support AI-driven shopping functionality
• Investigate and resolve production issues to improve performance and reliability
• Conduct code reviews and collaborate with product managers and senior engineers to refine technical designs

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building backend services that run in production
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, EE, SW, CE, MIS, or equivalent experience preferred
• Production experience with Scala or Kotlin preferred; backend engineers from other languages who are eager to learn are encouraged to apply
• Experience converting requirements into technical design
• Understanding of HTTP fundamentals, including caching headers, cookies, sessions, and timeouts
• Familiarity with GraphQL APIs
• Experience debugging production issues using metrics and logs
