Senior Software Engineer - Web Applications

Work Setup: Hybrid (3x/week On-site in Mandaluyong) | Mid-Shift Schedule

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to drive the end-to-end development of enterprise web tools and high-performance Progressive Web Apps. In this role, you will build scalable backends, structure modern NoSQL databases, deliver responsive user interfaces, and establish offline-first mobile web solutions while supporting core technical practices across the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Full-Stack Application Delivery: Execute end-to-end features for web applications, managing data schemas, API contracts, and interactive front-end components.
• Backend Engineering: Construct resilient server-side services (using Express.js or NestJS); establish standard patterns for authentication, middleware, error handling, and performance.
• PWA & Mobile Optimization: Implement Progressive Web App features—including service worker strategies, Workbox caching policies, push notifications, and web app installability.
• Database Architecture: Structure MongoDB collections, construct complex aggregation pipelines, and apply indexing strategies to maintain efficient database performance.
• Front-End Performance: Craft responsive React components optimized for mobile/tablet screens, touch controls, and Core Web Vitals targets.
• Engineering Standards: Participate in code reviews, resolve technical debt, troubleshoot production incidents, and provide technical guidance to peer developers.
• Agile Execution: Engage in sprint planning, technical feasibility reviews, and CI/CD deployment execution using Azure DevOps pipelines.

Core Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline
• 8+ years of hands-on software development experience centered on modern JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystems
• Proven mastery of server-side Node.js frameworks (Express.js or NestJS) and secure API design (JWT/OAuth2)
• Deep proficiency in React.js (Hooks, Context API/Redux, code-splitting, performance tuning)
• Demonstrated experience shipping production PWAs (Service Workers, Cache API, Web App Manifest)
• Solid hands-on expertise with MongoDB indexing, document design, and aggregation pipelines
• Practical familiarity with Git, CI/CD deployment pipelines, and Agile workflows
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Experience

• Advanced Workbox techniques (Background Sync, VAPID key notification setups)
• Exposure to GraphQL, WebSockets, or microservices architecture
• Automated testing experience using tools like Jest, Cypress, or Playwright
• Familiarity with Docker containerization and Microsoft Azure hosting environments
