Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer

About the Role

Our client, an enterprise technology platform supporting mission-critical financial and workforce operations (payroll, onboarding, accounting), is hiring a Senior SDET Frontend or Backend focused, to own quality across backend services, web applications.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automation frameworks across API, web, and mobile layers
• Validate REST/GraphQL APIs, contract testing, and service-to-service integrations
• Troubleshoot across API, UI, and data layers; drive root cause analysis
• Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions

Requirements

• 6+ years in Software Quality Assurance, Software Engineering or Software Testing
• At least 2 years of professional experience with Playwright and automated software testing
• Strong programming in TypeScript/JavaScript. Big plus to have Python and/or Java testing experience
• Experience testing APIs, with strong SQL/data validation skills
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Strong understanding of microservices/distributed system architecture
• Ability to convert ambiguous requirements into clear, testable scenarios

Preferred

• AI-assisted development/testing tooling experience
• Event-driven architecture exposure with tools like Kafka
• Experience in regulated environments (financial systems, payroll, compliance)
