Senior Software Quality Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Software Quality Engineer to drive quality across the software development lifecycle. You will design and maintain test strategies, test cases, automation frameworks, and quality processes while working closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders. The role also involves supporting and guiding QA engineers, advocating quality best practices, and translating quality engineering principles into effective practices within the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test data.
• Perform manual and automated testing across software products and features.
• Identify, analyse, document, and track software defects through resolution.
• Support and provide technical guidance to Software Quality Engineers.
• Collaborate with developers and product managers to identify and prevent quality issues early in the SDLC.
• Promote quality engineering standards, practices, and continuous improvement.
• Review and improve existing QA processes, methodologies, and testing approaches.
• Translate quality principles and direction from the Quality Engineering Manager into practical implementation within the team.
• Gather feedback from engineering teams and stakeholders and use it to improve quality practices.
• Communicate test results, quality metrics, risks, and status to stakeholders.
• Lead show-and-tell sessions, demos, and quality-focused discussions.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies and support continuous delivery of high-quality software.

Mandatory Skills

• 4+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering / Software Testing.
• Strong experience in manual and automation testing.
• Hands-on experience with testing tools/frameworks such as Selenium, TestNG, and JUnit.
• Good understanding of multiple testing types, including Functional Testing, Regression Testing, Integration Testing, Performance Testing, Security Testing, and Usability Testing.
• Strong programming/scripting knowledge in Python, C#, or similar.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a quality-first mindset.
