Senior Software Test Automation Engineer

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Software Test Automation Engineer to join a team focused on delivering reliable, secure, and high-quality digital solutions. The role involves designing and developing scalable test automation frameworks, integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, and promoting continuous testing and a shift-left approach within a DevSecOps environment.

Your responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated tests for web applications, APIs, mobile applications, and backend services.
• Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and reusable test automation frameworks.
• Define test automation strategies, architectures, methodologies, and standards aligned with business and technical requirements.
• Evaluate and select test automation tools and technologies appropriate to the digital solution and its DevSecOps approach.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing, early defect detection, and rapid feedback on build quality.
• Support the transition from manual to automated testing and develop automated regression test suites.
• Implement Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) scenarios using frameworks such as Cucumber JVM or Behave.
• Design and execute performance and load tests to assess application stability, responsiveness, and scalability.
• Develop automated test reports, dashboards, and quality metrics.
• Manage test data and validate API responses, data serialization, and system integrations.
• Collaborate with developers, manual testers, and cross-functional teams to improve test coverage and promote a shift-left testing approach.
• Explore Generative AI capabilities to support automated test generation and improve testing efficiency.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes, frameworks, and quality assurance practices.

What you bring

• A university degree meeting the applicable qualification requirements and at least 10–12 years of professional IT experience, depending on the degree level.
• Very good knowledge of English or French, both written and spoken, at B2 level or above.
• Strong proficiency in Java and practical experience with OpenJDK 11, 17, and 21.
• Advanced knowledge of Java Streams, Collections, and Lambda expressions.
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Playwright, and REST-assured.
• Practical experience with BDD frameworks, particularly Cucumber JVM or Behave.
• Experience with JUnit and TestNG for test execution and suite orchestration.
• Solid understanding of software testing methodologies and test design techniques, including equivalence partitioning and boundary value analysis.
• Experience with API, web, backend, and mobile testing.
• Hands-on experience with Apache JMeter for performance and load testing.
• Practical experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab CI.
• Knowledge of Maven and Gradle for build management.
• Experience with Oracle databases and the ability to write complex SQL queries.
• Knowledge of test data management and data validation practices.
• Familiarity with Angular and SCSS for frontend testing and UI element identification.
• Experience with Protocol Buffers, Jackson, and Gson for data serialization and deserialization validation.
• Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, Bearer tokens, and JWT-based authentication, including JJWT.
• Knowledge of Generative AI capabilities for automated test generation.
• Knowledge of grant lifecycle management processes, including submission, evaluation, grant agreements, reporting, and amendments.

It’s a plus if you have

• Knowledge of Amazon Kiro and AI-assisted software development workflows.
• Experience designing and implementing test automation architectures for complex enterprise applications.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and automated quality gates.
