Senior Software Test Engineer

We are currently looking for an Senior Software Test Analyst to be based in our Auckland city office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for undertaking various tasks, including test documentation, and ensure all activities conducted are in compliant with governing regulations, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Lead testing on various projects. Create test estimates and resource plans.

Review and analyse Business Requirements and Solution Design documents

Design and execute test cases and test scripts aligned to agreed criteria

Complete system, integration and regression testing, and associated activities such as defect logging, prioritisation, and management within established frameworks, strategies, standards, methodologies, and policies

Monitor and evaluate testing progress and risks and assist with reporting on these items appropriately to key stakeholders

Create and own the various testing artefacts associated with projects and work requests

Create manual and automated tests based on requirements and designs, using the test management and automation tools

Collaborate with developers, project managers and other team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring that the changes meet quality standards and user requirements.

Provide second level support for the applications and work collaboratively with first level technical support staff to ensure defined service levels are met

Skills & Capabilities

Bachelor's degree or above with minimum of 7 years relevant experience

Experience with various software development methodologies including but not necessarily limited to Agile

Manual and automation testing frameworks, processes and procedures

Relevant tertiary or industry qualification such as ISTQB or ITIL, or equivalent experience

Good knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of testing

Excellent technical skills and the ability to pick up new technologies quickly

Prioritising and able to context switch between multiple projects and tasks effectively

Exposure to standard QA tools: JIRA/Confluence, HP ALM, SQL and Nexus

Great communicator, problem solver and team player
