Senior Solicitor

MPM Group, a Hyderabad-based real estate development company, seeks a Senior Solicitor to head its legal function and serve as principal counsel to the Chairman & Managing Director.

This is a full-time, advisory and strategic role at our Hyderabad corporate office. Court appearances remain with external counsel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Transactions & Documentation

• Structure and close land acquisitions, Joint Development Agreements, development-cum-GPA and revenue-sharing arrangements
• Draft and vet Agreements of Sale, Sale Deeds, JDAs, GPAs, lease deeds, RERA-compliant buyer agreements and project financing documents
• Lead legal negotiations with landowners, investors, lenders and buyers

Title Due Diligence

• Conduct 30-year title searches and chain-of-title verification
• Examine ECs, Pahani, ROR, Sethwar and Bhu Bharati records; identify assigned, Inam, ceiling, endowment and prohibited-land issues
• Issue title opinions acceptable to banks and investors

Revenue & Regulatory

• Guide mutation, conversion (NALA), stamp duty and registration matters
• Ensure compliance with Telangana RERA and HMDA / GHMC approvals

Litigation Strategy & Research

• Frame strategy for title suits, writs, arbitrations and RERA matters
• Brief and supervise external counsel; review pleadings before filing
• Conduct legal research and prepare opinions

Legal Function Leadership

• Build and lead the in-house legal team
• Establish standard templates, review protocols and a matter tracker
• Use AI and legal technology for drafting, review and research

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION

• 15+ years in real estate and property law, including 5+ years in a leadership role, with a developer, law firm or bank legal panel
• LL.B. from a recognised university (LL.M. preferred)
• Fluency in English and Telugu

COMPENSATION

Commensurate with seniority and experience. Compensation will not be a constraint for the right candidate.
