Senior Solution Architect – Microsoft 365 / Workplace Services

We are seeking a Senior Solution Architect to lead the design, architecture, and delivery of complex enterprise solutions across Microsoft 365, Workplace Services, Messaging, Collaboration, and Identity . The role will partner closely with business stakeholders, project teams, and technical specialists to translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and sustainable technology solutions. The successful candidate will provide end-to-end technical leadership, from solution design and planning through implementation, transition, and ongoing operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end solution architecture and technical design for enterprise Workplace Services, Messaging, Collaboration, and Microsoft 365 initiatives.
• Work closely with clients, business stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams to understand requirements, identify dependencies, and define effective technical solutions.
• Develop detailed solution designs, including architecture, implementation approach, work breakdown structure, effort/pricing estimates, timelines, and technical dependencies .
• Serve as the technical lead throughout solution design, implementation, testing, deployment, and transition to steady-state operations.
• Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, technical best practices, and business objectives .
• Provide technical guidance and coordination across matrixed, virtual, and cross-functional teams .
• Support the Workplace Services operations team during steady-state operations and provide technical leadership for complex escalations and production issues .
• Identify opportunities for automation, optimization, standardization, and continuous improvement across the Microsoft 365 and Workplace environment.
• Develop scripts, utilities, and automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual processes.
• Evaluate technology trends and evolution scenarios and recommend solutions that support the organization's long-term technology strategy.
• Ensure architecture and technical documentation are complete, accurate, and maintained throughout the solution lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field .

Required Skills

• 10+ years of progressive experience in IT , with significant experience in enterprise solution architecture and technical leadership.
• 7+ years of experience designing, implementing, and integrating complex enterprise-level Messaging, Email, and Endpoint Management solutions supporting environments of 50,000+ users .
• 5+ years of experience developing automation and code-based solutions using PowerShell or similar scripting/programming languages.
• Strong experience working with JSON, XML, and other standard data formats .
• 5+ years of experience providing technical leadership for large-scale IT projects and enterprise environments.
• Deep technical and operational expertise across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem , including design, administration, security, governance, and optimization.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft Entra ID , including hybrid identity integration with on-premises Active Directory using Microsoft Entra Connect .
• Extensive experience with Exchange Server 2019 and Microsoft 365 Hybrid environments .
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory , including multi-domain forests, trust relationships, Group Policy, Identity and Access Management, and integration with Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365.
• Experience with Microsoft Groups and enterprise collaboration technologies.
• Knowledge of OpenText RightFax or other enterprise fax solutions is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of enterprise security, identity, messaging, collaboration, and workplace technologies .
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills .
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of an organization.

Preferred Skills

• Advanced Microsoft certifications related to Microsoft 365, Azure, Security, Identity, or related technologies.
• TOGAF 9 or equivalent enterprise architecture certification .
• Solution architecture or industry-recognized architecture certifications.
• Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks, governance, and technical standards .
• Experience leading architecture and delivery across large multinational organizations .
• Experience developing technology roadmaps and assessing technical evolution and transformation opportunities .
