Senior Solutions Engineer

About the Role

Uplynk is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to design and deliver complex video solutions across broadcast, streaming, sports, enterprise, and government customers. U.S. East Coast residency strongly preferred.

This role works across Sales, Product, Engineering, Operations, partners, and customers to translate requirements into scalable Uplynk solutions spanning live, linear, VOD, FAST, monetization, distribution, Cloud Master Control (MCR), disaster recovery, and Satellite-to-IP modernization.

The ideal candidate combines strong Uplynk knowledge with deep broadcast, streaming, cloud, and IP video expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery, solution architecture, demonstrations, RFP/RFI responses, and proofs of concept.
• Design end-to-end Uplynk solutions across live, linear, VOD, FAST, SSAI, DRM, and distribution.
• Architect Cloud MCR, disaster recovery, and Satellite-to-IP solutions.
• Design resilient multi-cloud architectures across AWS, Google Cloud, OCI, and Azure.
• Translate customer requirements into architectures, workflows, and implementation plans.
• Evaluate customer environments for improvements in resiliency, automation, latency, operations, and cost.
• Design solutions supporting mission-critical 24x7 streaming operations.
• Identify when Uplynk capabilities, partner technologies, or product enhancements are required to deliver a complete solution.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to communicate customer requirements and influence platform capabilities.
• Develop reusable architectures, demonstrations, and technical best practices for the Solutions Engineering organization.

Uplynk & Streaming Expertise

Strong knowledge of Uplynk or the ability to rapidly develop expertise across:

• Uplynk Live, Linear, VOD, Studio, and APIs
• Live ingest, encoding, transcoding, and adaptive bitrate profiles
• Channel scheduling, linear playout, and Live-to-VOD
• FAST channel creation and distribution
• SSAI, ad monetization, and SCTE-35
• DRM and premium content protection
• Closed captions and multi-audio workflows
• Content syndication and distribution
• CDN and multi-CDN architectures
• Monitoring, alerting, and workflow automation
• StreamOps and managed operational services
• Third-party contribution, playout, monitoring, monetization, and distribution integrations

Broadcast, MCR & Satellite-to-IP

Strong understanding of traditional and cloud-based broadcast environments, including:

• Master Control and linear channel origination
• Cloud MCR and disaster recovery
• Primary/backup signal paths and automated failover
• 24x7 broadcast and streaming operations
• Monitoring, incident response, and operational escalation
• Satellite contribution and distribution
• Satellite-to-IP migration
• Enterprise IPTV
• SRT, Zixi, RTP/UDP, and professional IP video transport
• Hybrid satellite, IP, and cloud environments

Cloud & Technical Expertise

Strong working knowledge of:

• AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and/or Azure
• Multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud architectures
• Cloud networking, compute, storage, and connectivity
• Broadcast and OTT video architectures
• H.264/AVC and HEVC
• MPEG transport streams
• HLS and MPEG-DASH
• SRT, Zixi, RTP/UDP, and RTMP
• SCTE-35/SCTE-104
• SSAI and dynamic ad insertion
• DRM and content security
• APIs and workflow automation
• Video monitoring and observability

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Broadcast Engineering, Video Architecture, or a related technical role.
• Strong experience with broadcast, OTT, streaming, or enterprise video platforms.
• Uplynk experience strongly preferred.
• Experience designing complex live and linear video architectures.
• Experience with Cloud MCR, disaster recovery, or Satellite-to-IP workflows preferred.
• Experience supporting mission-critical 24x7 streaming or broadcast operations.
• Experience designing solutions across multiple public cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of FAST, DRM, SSAI, and premium live video workflows.
• Ability to independently lead complex technical customer engagements.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, operators, partners, and senior executives.

They can quickly understand a complex broadcast or streaming environment, identify technical and operational challenges, and design a practical Uplynk-powered solution using cloud infrastructure and partner technologies where appropriate.

They are equally comfortable demonstrating Uplynk, architecting Cloud MCR and disaster recovery solutions, designing Satellite-to-IP migrations, supporting FAST and DRM workflows, and troubleshooting mission-critical 24x7 video services.

Beyond individual opportunities, they help Uplynk scale by creating repeatable architectures, demonstrations, and solution patterns that can be leveraged across customers and the broader Solutions Engineering organization.
