What they need

OceanaGold is a global intermediate gold and copper producer with more than 35 years of exploration, development and operating experience.  We have four operating mines – Haile in the USA, Macraes and Waihi in New Zealand, and Didipio in the Philippines and a global workforce of ~5,400 employees and contractors.

Our people, assets, and strategy are core to our success. Guided by our values—Care, Respect, Integrity, Performance, and Teamwork—we strive to be a trusted company people want to work for, partner with, supply and invest in, to create value.  We are committed to safe and responsible mining that generates strong returns and contributes to sustainable development in the regions where we operate. OceanaGold is listed on the Toronto and New York Stock Exchanges (TSX: OGC; NYSE: OGC).

The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.

Reporting into the Mining team, you will lead the development and delivery of structured training, coaching, competency assessment, and operational support programs that enable operators, supervisors, and Mine Control personnel to confidently operate autonomous mining systems.

You will also provide hands-on technical and operational support across AutoMine system administration, troubleshooting, route development, commissioning activities, and continuous improvement initiatives, helping reduce reliance on external vendor support and strengthening internal ownership of autonomous operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver AutoMine training programs and competency assessments.

  • Coach and support operators, supervisors, and Mine Control personnel in autonomous mining operations.

  • Provide technical troubleshooting and operational support for AutoMine systems and automation infrastructure.

  • Assist with system administration, configuration management, permissions, and user support.

  • Support mapping, route development, validation, and commissioning of autonomous operating areas.

  • Train personnel in autonomous loading, tramming, monitoring, start-up, shutdown, exception handling, and alarm response.

  • Support underground production activities, including traffic management and interaction between autonomous and manual equipment.

  • Contribute to automation projects, system upgrades, trials, and expansion initiatives.

  • Maintain training records, procedures, competency documentation, and operational support materials.

  • Identify opportunities to improve automation performance, utilisation, productivity, reliability, and workforce capability.

  • Promote and reinforce safe autonomous mining practices, risk controls, and compliance with site procedures.

  • 7+ years experience in underground mining operations, ideally within autonomous or remote equipment operations, Mine Control, production supervision, or operator training.

  • Knowledge of Sandvik AutoMine or similar autonomous mining systems.

  • Strong understanding of underground production processes, equipment interaction, traffic management, and operational risk controls.

  • Experience troubleshooting operational and technical system issues.

  • Demonstrated capability in developing and delivering training, coaching, and competency assessment programs.

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent) is advantageous.

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and documentation skills.

  • Ability to translate complex technical information into practical guidance for frontline teams.

  • A commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and building sustainable site capability.

WHAT'S ON OFFER:

  • Competitive salary + short-term and long-term bonuses
  • Accommodation and food provided on site
  • Travel provided to and from work
  • Rice allowance
  • Health Insurance
