Senior Specialist – Data Engineer

About the Role

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data across APIs, databases, IoT devices, and third-party systems.
• Collaborate with clients to evaluate data needs and architect tailored cloud, hybrid, or on-premises solutions.
• Implement and deploy end-to-end data solutions aligned with functional and business requirements.
• Research, evaluate, and adopt emerging technologies to address complex data challenges.
• Advise stakeholders on best practices for data governance, security, risk management, and compliance.
• Lead technical workshops to align non-technical stakeholders, while managing project roadmaps, deliverables, and documentation.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience designing and building data pipelines using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Apache Airflow, Databricks, or Informatica.
• Hands-on experience building and configurating BI tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
• Proven expertise in data modelling frameworks (e.g., Star Schema, Data Vault) and workflow orchestration platforms (e.g., Airflow, Luigi).
• Strong proficiency in programming and querying languages, including Python, SQL, Java, Scala, C++, SAS, or Kafka.
• Practical experience implementing enterprise data architectures, such as Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, or Data Mesh ecosystems.
• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure and native data services across major providers (AWS, Azure, Alibaba Cloud).
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps workflows. Prior exposure to Big Data, IoT, or AI/ML solutions is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and multitasking abilities.
• Business-level fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese.
