What they need

5+ years' experience | AAC & Feeding & Orofocial Myology Trained | Clinical Supervision & Leadership Portfolio's

Is this where you're at in your career?

  • You love being a Speech Pathologist, but you're ready for your role to be more than managing a caseload.
  • You're often the clinician others come to for support, but this isn't formally recognised in your role, or your already supervising but not getting the guidance and training in leadership and mentoring team members.
  • You've developed strong clinical skills and want the opportunity to use and share your expertise.
  • You want to supervise and support other clinicians without stepping away from the clinical work you enjoy.
  • You have ideas for improving services, resources or clinical practice, but don't have the scope to actually suggest or lead them
  • You'd value greater flexibility, including the ability to work from home for some of your senior responsibilities.

If that sounds familiar, you might be ready for a different kind of senior role.

Here's what that looks like at Eat Speak Play:

  • Clinical work you still enjoy. Manage a reduced paediatric caseload with the opportunity to work within your areas of interest and expertise.
  • A genuine senior role. Provide clinical supervision and mentoring to team members, supporting their clinical reasoning and development.
  • Own a portfolio. Take responsibility for an area of the practice and have dedicated scope to develop resources, improve systems and progress projects.
  • Flexibility to work from home. Balance face-to-face clinical work with designated supervision, portfolio, administrative and non-client-facing responsibilities that can be completed from home.
  • A caseload that accounts for the whole job. Non-face-to-face client care and senior responsibilities are considered within your workload and expectations not in addition.
  • Admin support that actually supports you. Our Client Care team manages initial bookings, reschedules, case meeting coordination and day-to-day client administration.
  • Clear progression. Documented career pathways provide transparency around role expectations, remuneration and opportunities for growth.

About us

Eat Speak Play is an established paediatric speech pathology practice operating for almost 10 years with clinics in Maroubra and Sandringham.

We support children and young people (0-18 years) across clinic, school, early childhood and telehealth settings, with a strong focus on collaborative, family-centred and neurodiversity-affirming practice.

We have a team who genuinely enjoy working together, well-established clinical and operational systems, fully resourced therapy spaces and a dedicated Client Care team.

We're looking for an experienced clinician who wants to bring their expertise to the team while still having the flexibility and support to enjoy their own clinical work.

This role is for you if you:

  • Have 5+ years' experience as a Speech Pathologist, with strong paediatric experience.
  • Have established skills in AAC and/or paediatric feeding and/or orofacial myofunctional therapy
  • Enjoy supporting other clinicians and are confident providing clinical supervision and feedback.
  • Want to take ownership of a clinical or operational portfolio and see projects through from idea to implementation.
  • Are comfortable working autonomously but value having a team to collaborate with.
  • Bring strong clinical reasoning and are confident navigating more complex presentations.
  • Value neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based and family-centred practice.
  • Like knowing what your week looks like before it starts.

The role

  • Manage a paediatric caseload alongside senior clinical responsibilities.
  • Provide supervision and mentoring to Speech Pathologists within the team.
  • Lead an allocated clinical or operational portfolio aligned with your strengths and the needs of the practice.
  • Contribute to clinical resources, team development, quality improvement and service initiatives.
  • Collaborate with our Clinical Manager and Director on clinical priorities and service development.
  • Flexible working arrangements, including the opportunity to work from home for designated senior and non-client-facing responsibilities.
  • Full-time or part-time arrangements considered.

What we offer

  • Competitive remuneration reflective of your experience and senior responsibilities with clear career and remuneration pathways

  • Bonus opportunities

  • Flexible working arrangements and work-from-home opportunities

  • Manageable caseload expectations with non-face-to-face time recognised

  • Dedicated time for supervision and portfolio responsibilities

  • Strong Client Care and operational support

  • Fully resourced clinic and your own working space

  • Professional development opportunities with a PD allowance and paid leave days.

  • Paid birthday leave and wellness leave

  • ESP parental leave in addition to Government Paid Parental Leave

  • A collaborative team where your experience and ideas are genuinely valued

What you'll need

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Speech Pathology
  • Speech Pathology Australia membership and appropriate practising status
  • Minimum 5 years' Speech Pathology experience
  • Strong paediatric clinical experience
  • Demonstrated experience in AAC and/or paediatric feeding and or orofacial myofunctional therapy
  • Experience supervising, mentoring or supporting other clinicians

Highly regarded: Training in Responsive Feeding Therapy (RFT) and Hanen programs, along with previous experience leading clinical portfolios, projects or service-development initiatives.

A quick note

This isn't a senior role where the title simply means more clients and more responsibility.

We're looking for someone who wants to remain a clinician while having a broader impact — supporting other Speech Pathologists, contributing their expertise and taking ownership of an area of the practice.

You'll have responsibility and accountability, but you'll also have dedicated time, flexibility and support to do the role well.

If you're an experienced Speech Pathologist who loves clinical work but is ready to contribute beyond your own caseload, we'd love to hear from you.

Other offers great for you!
