Senior Splunk Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Splunk Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Education, Government & Non-Profit space.

This role will focus on strengthening and optimizing the organization’s SIEM environment, with an emphasis on Splunk Enterprise, data integration, and secure infrastructure operations.

You will collaborate with technical teams to improve visibility, reliability, and incident readiness across Linux-based systems and connected data sources.

The position also includes mentoring junior team members, supporting solution testing, and driving continuous improvement in a mission-driven environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $125,000 – $150,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Implement, optimize, and maintain the Splunk SIEM infrastructure
• Integrate enterprise data sources into Splunk for enhanced data management
• Lead prototyping and testing of new features and solutions
• Manage and monitor Linux-based server infrastructure for upgrades
• Oversee the health and operation of Splunk components and data connections
• Provide mentoring to junior technicians and lead technical discussions
• Drive continuous improvement through industry best practices and innovative ideas

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in IT infrastructure, networking, security, and Splunk expertise
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
• Certified Splunk Architect required; additional relevant certifications preferred
• Mastery in SIEM operations and configurations, especially with Splunk Enterprise
• Extensive knowledge of Splunk Risk Based Alerting and CIM compliance
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, especially in Linux environments
• Ability to obtain and maintain access to classified information at the Public Trust level
