What they need
- The Notifications & Growth Platform org builds the systems that power user communication and product-led growth across Pinterest. Our platforms enable product teams to reach users with the right message at the right time across channels (push, email, in-app, etc.) safely and at scale
- Shape the technical vision and multi-year roadmap for the Notifications & Growth Platform org, aligning architecture and execution plans to Pinterest’s engagement and retention goals
- Lead cross-functional delivery of end-to-end solutions by partnering with Product, Data Science, Design, and engineering teams to ship notifications, in-app growth experiences, and internationalized (i18n) experiences for global markets
- Make durable architectural decisions that improve delivery quality, reliability, and scalability of Pinterest’s notifications and growth systems (e.g., orchestration, targeting hooks, scheduling, and multi-channel delivery)
- Define success metrics and operating cadence (e.g., engagement lift, delivery success, latency, reliability, cost, adoption) and drive measurable improvements aligned to org OKRs
- Use AI to accelerate your work across exploration, drafting, analysis, and synthesis—while maintaining strong judgment, rigorous validation, and accountability for outcomes- Proven technical leadership: driving architecture across multiple services/teams and delivering org-critical initiatives
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience building or partnering on ML-, AI-, or GenAI-adjacent systems, with a pragmatic understanding of where these technologies add value and how to deploy them responsibly
- Notifications and growth platform experience is a strong plus
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including meaningful time as a Staff, Senior Staff, or equivalent-level IC building and operating complex production systems
- Able to dive into data and identify opportunities to drive user growth is a strong plus
