Senior Staff Software Engineer, Platform - IAM

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer, Platform - IAM to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will define and drive the technical direction for enterprise identity and access management across a large, distributed environment. You will partner with engineering, security, compliance, and other cross-functional leaders to strengthen access controls, improve auditability, and support secure operations at scale. The work will center on building architecture, standards, and adoption strategies that help align many internal systems around a common identity framework.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $253,895 – $298,700 annually

Responsibilities

• Own and develop a multi-year IAM technical strategy and architecture
• Drive architecture decisions across multiple teams that establish engineering standards
• Build and implement an adoption strategy for more than 700 internal systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to automate audit and regulatory compliance controls
• Lead development of data models to clarify access rights across diverse systems
• Mentor engineers to enhance organizational expertise in identity management

Qualifications

• 12+ years in software engineering with extensive senior technical leadership experience
• In-depth IAM knowledge across workforce and service identity domains
• Proficiency in Go programming and distributed systems design on AWS
• Expertise in identity protocols and standards such as OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, and SCIM
• Demonstrated ability to influence cross-team technical direction at senior levels
• Experience translating regulatory requirements into automated controls
