Senior Structural Designer

Job Summary:

Leads the structural design of buildings and infrastructure projects from concept through construction using a BIM-driven workflow. Ensures designs are safe, code-compliant, and cost-effective, and guides junior engineers. The role also covers analysis and design in ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, or STAAD Pro, preparing calculation reports and drawings, reviewing shop drawings and submittals, and coordinating with architects, MEP, and site teams. You will also support construction with RFIs, and design revisions, ensuring compliance with different Codes.

Responsibilities:

• Lead structural analysis and design of RC, Steel, and Post-Tensioned Structures

(Foundations, Slabs, Columns, Shear Walls, Transfer Structures).

• Prepare and review calculations, design reports, and structural drawings.

• Select structural systems and run value-engineering studies.

• Coordinate with architects, MEP, geotechnical, and project management teams.

• Review contractor shop drawings, RFIs, and method statements.

• Review and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.

• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, client requirements, and authority approvals.

• Support tendering with preliminary designs, quantities, and technical input.

• Develop and manage detailed structural BIM models in Revit (LOD 300-400) and keep them consistent with analysis models.

• Assist in BIM coordination with architectural and MEP models: run clash detection, resolve clashes, and close coordination issues.

• Produce construction drawings, schedules, and quantities (BOQ) directly from the BIM model.

• Apply BIM Execution Plan (BEP) standards, modeling guidelines, and naming conventions across the structural team.

Requirements:

• BSc in Civil/Structural Engineering (MSc is a plus).

• 6 - 9 years of structural design experience, including 2+ years leading a design team.

• Proven track record on high-rise, industrial, or infrastructure projects.

• Fluent in Arabic and English, written and spoken.

Technical Requirements:

• Advanced analysis and design in ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, STAAD. Pro.

• Expert in AutoCAD; Strong in Revit and BIM coordination (LOD 300–400) (Mandatory).

• Design of RC, Steel, Post-tensioned, and Precast systems.

• Seismic and wind load analysis, including dynamic and time-history analysis.

• Deep Foundation Design: Piles, Rafts, Retaining and Basement Systems.

• Review and approval of calculation reports, drawings, shop drawings, and BOQs.

• Mastery of SPC, ECP 201/203, ACI 318, Eurocode 2/3/8, BS, and AISC.
