SENIOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

MAIN FUNCTIONS

• Lead and coordinate structural engineering activities from concept and detailed design through construction, commissioning and project handover.
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel, reinforced concrete and composite structures for buildings, industrial facilities, offshore/onshore facilities and infrastructure projects.
• Develop and review structural calculations, design reports, specifications, drawings, details and technical documentation.
• Design structural systems including foundations, beams, columns, slabs, platforms, pipe racks, equipment supports, access structures and steel frames.
• Review structural integrity, load paths, stability, strength, serviceability and constructability of structural systems.
• Perform structural assessments for static, dynamic, wind, seismic, thermal and equipment loading conditions as applicable.
• Review engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, connection details, material specifications and structural calculations prepared by consultants or contractors.
• Coordinate structural designs with architectural, civil, mechanical, piping, electrical and other engineering disciplines.
• Provide technical direction and mentoring to structural engineers, designers and junior engineering personnel.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during fabrication, construction, installation and modification activities.
• Identify structural design discrepancies, construction constraints and field issues and develop appropriate engineering solutions.
• Review technical queries, Requests for Information (RFIs), design changes, deviations and proposed modifications.
• Support structural integrity assessments, repair designs, strengthening works and structural modifications where required.
• Review structural steel fabrication, welding, bolting, erection and installation activities for compliance with approved engineering requirements.
• Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews, HAZID/HAZOP and project technical meetings where applicable.
• Monitor structural engineering deliverables, schedules, resources and technical quality.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable ASCE, AISC, Eurocodes, BS/EN, API, ISO and project/client standards.
• Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure structural inspection, testing, material certification and documentation requirements are satisfied.
• Review and close structural punch-list items and support mechanical completion and project handover.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, progress reports and engineering documentation.
• Ensure all structural engineering and construction activities comply with project HSE requirements and applicable regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• B.Sc./B.Eng. in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8–12 years of relevant structural engineering experience, preferably in oil & gas, EPC, offshore/onshore, industrial, marine or major infrastructure projects.
• Strong experience in structural analysis and design of steel and reinforced concrete structures.
• Experience with structural analysis/design software such as STAAD.Pro, SACS, SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE or similar.
• Strong knowledge of structural detailing, connections, foundations, fabrication and construction methods.
• Experience reviewing engineering deliverables and supervising structural design teams.
• Knowledge of applicable international codes and client/project specifications.
• Professional registration with a recognized engineering body is an advantage.
• Strong technical leadership, analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.

Pay: ₦140,000.00 - ₦240,000.00 per day
