Senior Structural Engineer (EIT/ PE)

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with strong experience in the design and analysis of building structures. This role is focused specifically on building projects and will involve structural design, engineering calculations, construction documentation, field investigations, project coordination, and construction-phase support.The ideal candidate has experience working with a variety of structural systems and materials, including wood, steel, and concrete, and is comfortable taking projects from initial design through construction.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze building structural systems using engineering software and hand calculations.
• Prepare engineering calculations, reports, specifications, and construction documents.
• Work with structural materials including wood, steel, concrete, and other building materials.
• Conduct site visits, field investigations, and construction observations.
• Coordinate structural designs with architects, contractors, owners, and other consultants.
• Review submittals and respond to RFIs during construction.
• Participate in client and project team meetings.
• Support project schedules, quality control, and overall project delivery.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and drafting staff as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
• 6–10 years of structural engineering experience focused on building design.
• Strong hands-on experience designing and analyzing building structures is required.
• Experience with wood, steel, and concrete structural systems.
• Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, building codes, and design standards.
• Experience preparing structural calculations and construction documents.
• PE license or progress toward PE licensure preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform field work and site visits.

Software

Experience with RISA, RAM, Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Enercalc, and Microsoft Office is preferred. Experience with comparable software will also be considered.

Work Environment

The position is primarily remote, with weekly in-office meetings and additional office or field attendance as needed based on project requirements. The role is expected to average approximately 40–45 hours per week.

Salary: $90,000–$145,000/year
