Senior Supervisor - Evening Shift

As a Senior Fabrication Supervisor you will be responsible for providing technical advice, knowledge, and assistance and intervention to ensure the safe and efficient production/operation of all plant and activities while ensuring adherence to all safe systems of work for all fabrication activity and to work to company health and safety policy at all times.

What you will be doing:

· Lead, manage and motivate the entire shift fabrication team, taking responsibility for all the manufacturing activity within in the facility for that shift.

· Oversee and ensure procedures are adhered to for all activities of any shop floor operative involved in fabrication activities.

· Ensure all Fabrication tasks are assessed for risk and a safe system of work is in place prior to commencing work.

· Ensure plant, material and equipment is available to meet the operational demands placed upon the fabrication team, in a safe and efficient manner.

· Provide equipment and training to new starters, apprentices and personnel on shift and that people are safely trained to a competent level to complete production tasks.

· Ensure all documentation as defined in the company Health and Safety policy is in place before any Maintenance work is carried out, especially any Permits to Work.

· Be aware of the applicable tolerances finish requirements and standards to the various specifications we use, referring to production management and RWC when and where required

· You will oversee the planning and allocation of resources to workloads across the whole facility. You will actively look for opportunities to streamline production activities through allocation of labour, availability of material, efficiency of operations/setup of area and proactively implement improvements.

· Communicate the activities of the loading team, regularly keeping Production management, and operational staff up to date with process of activities to ensure problems are reported & resolved.

· Ensure all daily, weekly & monthly paperwork / check sheets are completed correctly and authorised.

What we are looking for:

· General level of education together with a reliable level of fabrication and welding experience and good IT skills.

· Must have a reasonable level of working in a Structural Steelwork manufacturing environment

· Able to demonstrate a practical application of supervisory people management activities.

· Ability to interpret production and logistical documentation including loading specifications.

· Ability to build collaborative working relationships with shop floor operatives, the production office staff and wider WHL personnel.

· Engaging communicator who can articulate themselves clearly.

· Can demonstrate a strong work ethic, is self-motivated and resilient.

· Works well using their own initiative and pays attention to detail.

· Commitment to completing deadline driven tasks and meeting the needs of the customer.

· Enthusiastic and engaging team member who will positively contribute to the continued development of the team and wider business

Pay: From £22.22 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
