Choices Supported Living & Care Ltd. provides high-quality supported accommodation for young people, helping them develop the skills, confidence, and independence they need as they prepare for adulthood.

We are looking for an experienced, confident, and motivated Senior Support Worker to join our team. You will closely with and support the Registered Service Manager, provide day-to-day guidance and leadership to support staff, and help ensure that young people receive safe, consistent, and high-quality support.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must:

· Have a minimum of 2 years relevant experience working with children or young people within residential childcare, supported accommodation or a similar setting.

· Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or an equivalent relevant qualification.

· Hold a full UK driving licence and be able to drive as part of the role.

· Have experience of safeguarding children and young people, risk management, and professional boundaries.

· Be confident dealing with challenging situations and incidents, and able to provide guidance and direction to other staff.

· Be flexible, including participation in the evening and weekend on-call rota and some weekend/evening working.

· Have good written, verbal and IT skills to maintain accurate records.

Key Responsibilities

· Assist the Registered Service Manager with the day-to-day organisation of the homes, staff inductions, communication, and ensuring records are completed within timescales.

· As a Senior Support Worker, you will be expected to provide positive leadership on shift by leading by example, promoting a positive and professional culture, and ensuring that policies, procedures, and clear handovers are consistently followed across the staff team.

· You will play an active role in helping young people prepare for independence and adulthood. By building positive, professional relationships, you will support them to develop practical independent-living skills such as budgeting, cooking, shopping, and tenancy, while encouraging engagement with education, training, employment, and community activities to promote their physical and emotional wellbeing.

· Understand and follow safeguarding procedures, manage individual risks, and maintain professional boundaries and accurate records.
