Nottinghamshire County Council is dedicated to making a positive impact in our community. We believe in supporting children and families to thrive, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to grow, learn, and flourish. Join us in our mission to create a nurturing environment where everyone feels valued and empowered.

As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a vital role in our Children & Families Services team. Your mission will be to provide personal and practical care to children and young people in community, home, and group settings. You will help them build independence, resilience, and wellbeing through child-centred support. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and their families!

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate closely with families, colleagues, and partner agencies to create tailored support plans.
  • Observe and communicate effectively to ensure each child receives the support they need.
  • Guide and mentor staff through supervision, induction, and development.
  • Maintain high-quality standards in line with CQC requirements.
  • Deliver creative and flexible support, including sleep programmes and short-term interventions.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A professional qualification at NVQ level 3 or above in a relevant field.
  • A solid understanding of child development and family systems.
  • A full driving licence (unless registered disabled).
  • A minimum of three years of experience working with children, young people, and their families.

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:

  • Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • The ability to make decisions and solve problems effectively.
  • A commitment to excellent customer care and a high level of personal drive.
  • A warm, caring personality with a non-judgmental attitude.

At Nottinghamshire County Council, we offer:

  • A place to belong: a friendly, inclusive workplace where everyone is valued.
  • Opportunities for professional development and training.
  • A supportive environment that encourages work-life balance.
  • Competitive pay and generous leave entitlements.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to be a part of something special! If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people, we want to hear from you. Apply today and help us create a brighter future for our community!
