Day Services: Senior Support Worker.

Main Purpose of Job:

Compassionate Care Day Services Ltd is looking for an experienced, motivated and compassionate Support Worker / Senior Support Worker to join our day services team.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience working in care and will provide direct support to adults with learning disabilities and other additional needs.

As a Senior Support Worker you will continue to provide hands-on care and support while also working closely with the Centre Manager to help ensure the day service runs smoothly. You will support other members of staff, assist with the organisation of daily activities, help maintain high standards of care and ensure that individuals are supported safely and respectfully.

You will be expected to lead by example and promote a positive, professional and person-centred approach at all times.

The role is suited to an experienced Support Worker who is looking to develop their leadership skills and progress within the care sector.

As a Senior Support Worker you will continue to provide hands-on care and support while working closely with the Manager to help ensure the day service runs smoothly. You will support other members of staff, assist with the organisation of daily activities, help maintain high standards of care and ensure individuals are supported safely, respectfully and in accordance with their care plans.

The role is particularly suited to an experienced Support Worker who would like to develop their leadership skills and progress within the care sector, while continuing to work directly with the individuals we support.

Essential Requirements

The successful candidate must:

• Have at least 2 years' experience working in the care sector.
• Have a good understanding of person-centred care and support.
• Have knowledge and understanding of safeguarding adults.
• Have experience completing care documentation and maintaining accurate records.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and organisational skills.
• Be able to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
• Have a can-do attitude and a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Demonstrate empathy, patience and respect towards individuals with additional needs.
• Be able to work effectively as part of a team while also taking responsibility and making appropriate decisions.
• Be able to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Hold a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, be currently working towards a Level 3 qualification, or be willing to enrol on and complete a Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification.
• Be committed to completing the qualification within an agreed timeframe where required by the organisation.
• Be willing to undertake relevant training and continuing professional development.
• Be able to drive, where required for the role.
• Be a speaker fluent speaker in Urdu, Pothwari and Punjabi.

Desirable Experience and Qualifications

The following would be advantageous:

• Experience working within a care setting.
• Understanding of care plans and risk assessments.
• Experience dealing with safeguarding concerns and incidents.
• Knowledge of relevant health and social care standards and regulations.

Hours of Work

Zero-Hours Contract – hours offered according to the needs of the service.

Pay: £12.71 per hour
