Want to work on projects that shape communities and leave a lasting impact?

We're looking for an experienced Senior Surveyor to join our team and play a pivotal role in delivering civil construction and infrastructure projects. From earthworks and roading to three waters and land development, you'll provide the surveying expertise that keeps projects moving, accurate, and on track.

Working closely with project teams, clients, and contractors, you'll lead survey activities including set-out, machine control modelling, as-built surveys, and quantity calculations, ensuring every project is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

If you're passionate about technology, enjoy solving complex challenges, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, we'd love to hear from you.

What does this look like?

  • Lead and undertake cadastral and field surveying projects, including topographical surveys, land transfer surveys, height-to-boundary assessments, and building set-out activities for earthworks, drainage, pavements, retaining structures, and councils.

  • Complete as-built surveys and prepare as-built records for clients and councils.

  • Operate and oversee the use of advanced surveying technologies, including GPS, Total Stations, Robotic Total Stations, Laser Levels, and other specialist equipment, ensuring best-practice application and data quality.

  • Prepare survey records, quantity calculations, field notes, and detailed drawings.

  • Develop and maintain survey control networks.

  • Verify construction works comply with design drawings and specifications.

  • Manage the collection, analysis, and interpretation of survey and GIS data, ensuring accuracy and integrity to support the preparation of plans, reports, and project deliverables.

  • Use survey data to assist project teams with planning and sequencing of construction activities.

  • Conduct field surveys and measurement recording.

  • Complete survey processing and survey calculations to support project delivery and construction activities.

  • Provide technical advice relating to survey accuracy, design interpretation and construction tolerances.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in civil construction surveying, or similar.
  • NZ Diploma in Surveying (Level 6), Bachelor of Surveying, Bachelor of Engineering (Civil), or equivalent relevant qualification.
  • Strong understanding of civil disciplines including earthworks, drainage, pavements, roading, three-waters, and infrastructure projects.
  • Proficient in survey equipment such as GPS, Total Station, Robotic Total Station, and Laser Levels.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and design models.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Full Class 1 New Zealand Driver Licence.
