Job purpose:

The Senior System Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, administering, and optimizing enterprise infrastructure environments across hybrid cloud, Nutanix, Windows, and Linux platforms. The role ensures the availability, security, performance, and scalability of critical IT systems through effective management of virtualization, clustering, identity services, and automation solutions. The Senior System Administrator serves as a technical expert, driving infrastructure reliability, high availability, disaster recovery readiness, and operational excellence while supporting business continuity and future technology growth.

Responsibilities:

• Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure

Design, deploy, and maintain hybrid infrastructure environments leveraging

.

• Nutanix Platform Administration

Configure, and manage **Nutanix HCI** clusters.

Perform cluster upgrades, lifecycle management, and capacity planning.

Monitor cluster performance, storage policies, and resource utilization.

Troubleshoot Nutanix AHV hypervisor issues and VM performance problems.

• Windows Infrastructure & Active Directory

Manage and maintain **Active Directory** environments including:

Domain controllers

Group Policy design and troubleshooting

AD replication and site topology

DNS and authentication services

Implement identity and access management policies.

Manage domain security hardening and auditing.

• Clustering & High Availability

Deploy and manage **MSCS (Microsoft Cluster Service) Clustering** environments.

Configure failover clusters for critical workloads.

Perform cluster troubleshooting and failover testing.

Design high availability solutions for enterprise applications.

• Linux Administration

Administer enterprise Linux environments including **Ubuntu** and **RHEL**.

Manage system performance, security hardening, and patching.

Configure system services, networking, storage, and package management.

Troubleshoot kernel, filesystem, and OS-level issues.

• Automation & Scripting

Develop automation scripts using **Shell scripting** to streamline system operations.

Qualifications:

Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure

• Strong hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and services.
• Experience managing and supporting hybrid cloud environments.
• Good knowledge of cloud networking, compute, and storage services.

Virtualization & Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI)

• Strong experience with Nutanix infrastructure.
• Hands-on administration of Nutanix AHV Hypervisor.
• Experience in Nutanix cluster lifecycle management, upgrades, and maintenance.

Windows Infrastructure

• Deep expertise in Active Directory administration and management.
• Strong experience with Group Policy configuration and administration.
• Experience in Active Directory troubleshooting, replication management, and security administration.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration.

Clustering & High Availability

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Cluster Services (MSCS).
• Experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting failover clusters.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and high-availability solutions.

Linux Administration

• Advanced administration experience with Ubuntu and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning capabilities.
• Experience with file system, network, and security configuration.

Automation & Scripting

• Strong Shell scripting skills.
• Experience automating operational and system administration tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator).
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring and performance management tools.
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Knowledge of infrastructure automation frameworks and tools.

Professional Experience

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in System Administration or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Proven experience managing enterprise-scale production environments.
• Experience supporting mission-critical infrastructure and high-availability systems.
