Senior System Administrator

CGI is seeking an experienced Principal Consultant – Senior System Administrator to play a key role in mentoring junior team members, evaluating emerging technologies, and contributing to continuous improvement across the engineering function. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Your future duties and responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex software or infrastructure solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid level engineers.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and cross functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production and development environments.
• Participate in architectural discussions and propose scalable, efficient system designs.
• Drive automation and optimization initiatives to improve system performance and reliability.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies and evaluate their potential impact.
• Develop and maintain documentation, white papers, and training materials to support knowledge transfer for customers and junior team members.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through reliable support and service delivery.
• Meet or exceed agreed service level targets defined in the Service Level Agreement (SLA) or project timelines

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

• Must have 5+ years of related experience.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
• Proven capacity to perform efficiently in high-pressure environments.
• Strong collaboration skills, exhibiting a commitment to teamwork.
• Dedication to maintaining confidentiality in all aspects of work.
• Flexibility with a proven ability to adapt quickly to changes and think conceptually.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex issues.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects, influence decision-making, and mentor team members.
• Strong expertise in Networking and Linux.
• Proven experience designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performance systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is an advantage, but not a requirement.
• Must be amenable to working onsite 1x a week in McKinley, Taguig, on a mid-shift schedule.
