This advanced position is vital to maintaining business continuity across global operations, driving architectural standards, and spearheading the support for everything from complex virtualization layers to specialized enterprise applications.

As part of a business that operates around the clock, this position requires commitment to a rotational on-call schedule including scheduled evenings and weekends to ensure seamless operational coverage, support international sites, and execute critical updates outside of standard business hours.

The role

  • Managed File Transfer (MFT): Design, support, and optimize critical enterprise data exchange via SFTP frameworks and HelpSystems GoAnywhere, establishing script standards and core configuration protocols.
  • Advanced Application Support: Lead the administration, patching, and technical troubleshooting of specialized enterprise platforms, serving as the highest tier of technical escalation.
  • Security & SOX Compliance: Enforce enterprise network and physical security policies, govern user access controls, and meticulously oversee the compliance and updates of SOX documentation.
  • Change & Patch Management: Strategy-build, test, and deploy critical system upgrades, software patches, and environmental changes rigorously to guarantee zero disruption to integrated client systems.
  • Business Continuity: Architect, evaluate, and lead multi-site testing for the system Disaster Recovery (DR) Plan.
  • Documentation & Audit Leadership: Standardize and maintain up-to-date system documentation, complex step-by-step operational procedures (with visual captures), and software license inventories.
  • Service Delivery: Provide high-quality, escalation-level technical support to internal clients, promptly resolving complex issues and strategic enhancement requests.
  • Innovation & Research: Drive technological roadmaps by conducting research and detailed solution comparisons to provide data-driven recommendations for new technology acquisitions and system enhancements.
  • Operational Communication: Oversee the effective, timely communication of upcoming planned and unplanned systems changes to cross-functional users.

Attributes

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical changes to both technical teams and business stakeholders
  • Technical Mastery: In-depth knowledge of RedHat Linux, robust Shell scripting (Bash), and enterprise SFTP infrastructure.
  • Virtualization: Strong administrative knowledge of OVM (Oracle Virtual Machine) and VMware frameworks.
  • Valued Assets: Experience with HelpSystems GoAnywhere, IBM VIO, or AIX environments is highly advantageous.
  • Compliance & Security: Prior experience working within a regulated environment (such as SOX compliance) and managing strict security protocols.
