• We are looking for Senior C++ Systems Engineer – CORBA / Oracle
• It is an Hybrid Opportunity
• Work location -Dortmund Region -Germany
• Tenure- This will start as a 2 month position but has potential to grow considering the current plan for product lifecycle is 3 more years at aleast.

Role Purpose

A native Win32 distributed service system developed with legacy Borland/Embarcadero C++Builder. Multiple Windows services communicate using ACE/TAO CORBA, including server-side POA functionality and potentially bidirectional GIOP callbacks. The system also uses Indy for HTTP and other TCP/IP communication, Expat for XML parsing, ImageMagick and PNG libraries for image processing, bzip2 for compression, and Winsock 2 for network communication.

Specific technical environment

The legacy application consists of several native Windows services developed with Borland or Embarcadero C++Builder.The system uses ACE and TAO as its CORBA implementation. Linked TAO libraries indicate the use of:

• TAO core ORB functionality
• CORBA Portable Object Adapter and server-side servants
• Bidirectional GIOP
• IOR interceptors
• CORBA valuetypes
• TypeCode factories
• Object Reference Templates
• TAO connection, concurrency or transport strategies

The application also uses:

• Indy networking components, including legacy Indy 5 libraries
• HTTP-based communication
• Windows Winsock 2
• Expat XML parsing
• ImageMagick and PNG image processing
• bzip2 compression
• Native static libraries and potentially compiler-specific Borland binary artefacts
• BDE for database access
• ORACLE as database inkl. SQL Queries, Views and Triggers
