Senior System Engineer (Chinese speaking)

Key Responsibilities -

Systems and applications:

• Provide lifecycle technical support for IT and/or application infrastructure, including planning, project management, installation, ongoing management/monitoring/troubleshooting, and de‑installation, following operational policies and processes compliant with industry standards (e.g., ITIL).
• Configure and maintain databases and system settings within HR and payroll system
• Provide application support and troubleshooting assistance to payroll teams

Infrastructure Operations & Support:

• Monitor performance and health of servers, network devices, storage, and cloud environments
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure incidents and problems within SLA
• Perform regular system maintenance, updates, and optimization

Server & Cloud Management:

• Manage on premises and/or cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, VMware, Hyper V)
• Deploy and manage virtual machines, containers, and storage resources
• Maintain patching, backups, and disaster recovery processes

Network Administration:

• Support LAN/WAN, VPN, Wi Fi, firewalls, and load balancers
• Assist in network monitoring, capacity planning, and configuration updates

Security & Compliance:

• Implement and enforce security best practices, including identity management, system hardening, and vulnerability remediation
• Monitor logs and alerts for potential threats
• Support audits, compliance checks, and documentation

Project & Change Management:

• Participate in infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and technology rollouts
• Prepare technical documentation, diagrams, and change requests
• Collaborate with cross functional teams (IT Support, Cybersecurity, Application Teams)

Continuous Improvement:

• Recommend enhancements for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
• Evaluate new tools, technologies, and automation opportunities

Requirements:

• 5 years of relevant IT infrastructure experience and system database experience

• Familiar with IT infrastructure technical skills:

• Virtualization: VMware, Hyper V

• Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, routing & switching

• Cloud platforms: Azure/AWS/GCP

• Backup systems, monitoring tools, and storage technologies

• Fluent in spoken Cantonese and English
