THE POSITION
We are looking for a technically strong and curious Senior Systems Engineer to join our product team and take end-to-end ownership of critical systems across their full lifecycle.
In this role, you will work at the intersection of cloud engineering, DevOps/GitOps, software engineering, test automation, validation, and IT operations. You will be responsible for ensuring that systems are secure, reliable, compliant, scalable, and operationally ready—from design and implementation through ongoing operations, modernization, and eventual decommissioning.
We are looking for someone with a multi-learning mindset who is pragmatic, curious, and comfortable navigating across technical and operational topics. You will collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts, Validation Managers, the Business Product Owner, Developers, IT teams, vendors, and other stakeholders.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping and improving our cloud and technology landscape while working in a highly regulated environment.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own and manage systems throughout their full lifecycle, including operations, maintenance, support, enhancements, compliance documentation, modernization, and decommissioning.
- Drive and coordinate cloud and platform operations, ensuring system reliability, scalability, performance, and operational readiness.
- Coordinate backup and recovery activities, disaster recovery testing, monitoring, logging, and business continuity requirements.
- Ensure systems meet applicable security, risk, governance, audit, access management, information protection, and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate technical activities including infrastructure changes, patching, vulnerability remediation, certificate management, and cloud compliance.
- Lead and coordinate incident, problem, change, release, and service management activities to maintain system stability and reliability.
- Support and continuously improve CI/CD, GitOps, infrastructure-as-code, and automation practices across cloud and containerized environments.
- Oversee software and license management, performance optimization, scalability improvements, and cost-efficiency initiatives.
- Monitor system and application health using AWS-native and third-party observability solutions and drive proactive improvements.
- Act as the primary technical liaison between business stakeholders, IT, vendors, and auditors, coordinating cross-functional activities and communications.
- Support system migrations, archival, modernization, and retirement initiatives in alignment with technology roadmaps.
- Contribute to software engineering, test automation, validation, and continuous improvement activities where needed.
