About the role

As a Senior System / Storage Engineer (Level 3), you will play an important role in maintaining and supporting the IT infrastructure of an international organization operating in the medical technology sector. You will work across VMware environments, Windows and Linux servers, storage solutions and remote desktop technologies.

This role requires someone who understands the bigger picture. Servers are often part of a wider IT landscape, and you know how different systems, applications and infrastructure components depend on one another.

The organization is also preparing for an important infrastructure transition. By the end of the year, physical data centre management will be transferred to an external service provider. Operating system management will initially remain in-house before gradually transitioning to the provider as well.

You will play a key role in guiding this transition, combining your hands-on technical expertise with technical coordination and oversight of the external service provider.

What will you do?

• Manage and support VMware environments, Windows and Linux servers, and storage solutions.
• Ensure the continuity and stability of existing remote desktop solutions.
• Design and optimize file-sharing solutions, including access management that allows designated owners to manage permissions.
• Understand and manage dependencies between servers, applications and other infrastructure components.
• Support and coordinate the transition of physical data centre management to an external service provider.
• Contribute to the gradual handover of operating system management. Work closely with the external service provider, providing technical guidance and coordinating activities to ensure service continuity.

• Strong knowledge of both Windows and Linux operating systems.

• A solid understanding of complex IT environments and dependencies between infrastructure components.
• The ability to work independently while effectively coordinating with external IT service providers. Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical requirements into clear agreements and actions.
