This position will support approximately 160 employees across two physical locations and three buildings, with the opportunity to improve infrastructure, recovery readiness, and the way our IT team supports the business.
Reporting to the IT Manager, this position will serve as the senior technical resource within a small IT team, providing advanced infrastructure administration, project execution, and escalation support. This is a hands-on role for an experienced administrator who can resolve complex issues, coach IT technicians, and turn technical improvements into dependable daily operations.
Principal Responsibilities

· Maintain and improve networking, firewalls, wireless access, VPNs, and connectivity between facilities.
· Strengthen cybersecurity through endpoint protection, patch management, multifactor authentication, monitoring, and coordinated incident response.
· Manage backup reliability, test restoration procedures, and improve disaster recovery and business continuity readiness with the IT Manager.
· Support ERP and business-critical applications, working with users and vendors to resolve issues and implement approved changes.
· Execute infrastructure and software projects; use SQL, scripting, and automation to improve monitoring, reporting, and routine administration.
· Provide advanced escalation support and participate in hands-on user support when operational needs require it. Coach technicians and share troubleshooting knowledge.
· Maintain useful documentation, configuration records, and support tickets; communicate project progress and technical risks to the IT Manager.
Required Qualifications
· Eight or more years of progressive IT experience, including at least five years of hands-on systems administration responsibility.
· Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant experience.
· Demonstrated ability to independently administer Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization, and troubleshoot networking, firewall, wireless, and VPN issues.
· Practical experience with backups, system restoration, endpoint security, patching, multifactor authentication, and security incident investigation.
· Ability to resolve complex system and application issues, use PowerShell or comparable scripting, and work effectively with business application vendors.
· Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills; ability to coach technicians, protect confidential information, and prioritize work based on operational impact.
Preferred Qualifications
· Ten or more years of relevant IT experience; bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field preferred.
· Experience supporting manufacturing operations or other environments where system availability directly affects production.
· Experience with M1 or another ERP platform, SQL Server, Crystal Reports, KnowledgeSync, and application integrations or workflow automation.
· Experience with Sophos, Ubiquiti UniFi, Jira, Google Workspace, SharePoint, or comparable security, networking, ticketing, and collaboration platforms.
· Relevant Microsoft, networking, security, or virtualization certifications, such as CCNA, Security+, or comparable credentials.
Location and Working Conditions
This is an onsite position based in Oxford, Alabama, supporting both AMI locations. Work takes place in office and manufacturing environments and includes travel between facilities.
