Duration: 12-month contract to start with strong potential for conversion
Our client, a leading global provider of claims and risk management solutions, is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to support an enterprise initiative evaluating alternatives to Smartsheet for a large user population. This individual will assess how teams currently use Smartsheet, gather business and technical requirements, and identify fit-for-purpose platforms that align with business needs and enterprise standards.
The ideal candidate has experience evaluating enterprise applications or work management tools, analyzing existing workflows, documenting requirements, and comparing potential solutions. This role requires strong analytical, communication, and facilitation skills, along with the ability to translate business needs into actionable recommendations for technical teams and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and document existing Smartsheet use cases across business teams, including project tracking, intake and approval workflows, reporting, automations, and integrations.
- Conduct stakeholder interviews and facilitate workshops to understand current processes, pain points, business needs, and required platform capabilities.
- Translate stakeholder input into clear, testable business and solution requirements, including functional, integration, reporting, security, and access requirements.
- Categorize use cases to identify opportunities for platform consolidation, standardization, and specialized solutions where appropriate.
- Research and evaluate alternative platforms against documented requirements, identifying capability gaps, risks, trade-offs, and high-level implementation effort.
- Collaborate with Security, Cloud Engineering, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and Enterprise Architecture teams to validate alignment with enterprise standards, including single sign-on (SSO), role-based access control (RBAC), logging, and data protection.
- Develop comparative analyses and present findings and recommendations to business stakeholders and leadership in clear, non-technical language.
- Document assessment findings, requirements, and recommendations to support platform selection and future implementation planning.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or Business Analyst in an enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated experience gathering requirements directly from business stakeholders and translating business needs into clear, actionable documentation.
- Hands-on familiarity with enterprise work management, collaboration, or workflow platforms, such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Planner, Microsoft Project, Power Platform, ServiceNow, or similar tools.
- Experience evaluating software tools or platforms, conducting gap analyses, and comparing potential solutions against business and technical requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience facilitating stakeholder interviews, workshops, and cross-functional discussions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience administering, automating, or migrating Smartsheet solutions.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft 365 and Power Platform ecosystems.
- Understanding of enterprise security, compliance, access management, and change management practices.
- Experience supporting platform consolidation, tool rationalization, application assessments, or enterprise software selection initiatives.
