Senior Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer with a strong background in Network Design and Implementation, holding a CISCO CCNA and Microsoft MCSE or later certification to join their team. This pivotal role involves the architectural design, integration, and optimization of complex OT systems that underpin critical infrastructure and advanced technological solutions. You will work collaboratively with a distributed team of experts, leveraging your deep technical knowledge to tackle multifaceted engineering challenges and drive innovation. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives on solving intricate system-level problems.

Requirements

• Five or more years’ experience in the design, configuration, setup, testing and deployment of Process Control System hardware in a Microsoft Windows environment. Of which three or more years have involved setup, configuration and deployment of servers in a HyperV virtual environment; as well as the setup, configuration and deployment of CISCO networks; and holds a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineering qualification.
• Five or more years’ experience in the design, configuration, setup, testing, and deployment of Process Control System hardware and communication networks in a Microsoft Windows environment, including the following: virtual machines, servers, workstations, domain controllers, printers, WSUS, firewalls, network switches etc.
• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering with a specialization in OT systems.
• Extensive experience in system architecture design, implementation, configuration, and support.
• Proficiency with advanced IT/OT software tools and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop complex network and OT systems, focusing on scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Conduct thorough system analysis, performance tuning, and root cause investigations for complex network or windows systems
• Develop and implement rigorous testing protocols and validation strategies for OT systems.
• Collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams to define system requirements and specifications.
• Configuration of MS Active Directory for OT environments. Experience with AD-LDS will be beneficial.
• Configuration, installation, testing and support of CISCO switches in an OT environment across various VLANs and microwave networks.
• Experience with Fortigate firewall technologies.

Pay: R600 000,00 - R1 200 000,00 per year
