Senior Systems Engineer

Tronic Group is an MSP based in Cobar, supporting local governments, mining operations and regional businesses across Central and Far West New South Wales. Our work is about more than keeping technology running. We're passionate about using technology to support the people and communities that rely on it.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you'll be the senior technical person on site, solving complex problems, keeping the environment moving and mentoring two junior engineers.

You might be a Senior Systems Engineer looking for your first formal leadership opportunity. Or you might have come through construction, power plant engineering, rail or another hands-on technical environment. Where you've come from doesn't matter, what matters is you're naturally hands-on, ready to get stuck in, and looking for the chance to start leading and mentoring.

• 9 to 12 month fixed term contract based on site in Cobar, with a genuine path to permanent for the right person.

What you bring

• Hands on L2/L3 technical experience across infrastructure, systems and end user environments.
• Experience supporting Windows environments, Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Active Directory.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills, with the ability to prioritise issues and know when to escalate.
• A natural communicator, able to explain technical issues clearly to clients, users and other engineers.
• You don't need a title to prove you can lead. You already do it through mentoring, taking ownership and being someone others can rely on.
• Curious by nature. You ask questions, learn fast and back yourself to figure the rest out. You don't need to know everything on day one. You just need to know how to find the answer.
