Senior Tax Associate

Company Overview: An independent RIA firm specializing in investment management and wealth planning is seeking to expand its tax practice. The firm is adding a Senior Tax Associate to its DC-area team to support its growing client base of high-net-worth individuals and families.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review federal and state returns for individuals (1040), partnerships (1065), and S-Corps (1120-S)
• Handle quarterly estimates, extensions, and tax projections for HNW clients
• Work with wealth advisors on tax-efficient planning, including business-owner, exit, and gifting strategies
• Respond to IRS and state notices and correspondence
• Help onboard newly acquired client relationships onto the firm's tax platform
• Use and help refine the firm's new AI-driven tax prep workflow
• Mentor and review the work of junior staff as the team grows

Qualifications:

• 2-6 years of tax compliance experience in public accounting, a family office, or a wealth management firm
• Strong 1040/1065/S-Corp generalist background with HNW clients
• CPA or EA, or actively pursuing one, preferred
• Trust and estate (1041/706/709) experience a strong plus
• Experience with AI tax prep tools a major plus
• Proficiency in CCH Axcess or similar tax software; strong Excel skills
• DC-metro based, or willing to be, with at least 2 days a week in office

Compensation: Salary: $110,000 – $150,000, Plus Bonus
