Senior Backend Engineers | Systems Architect | Senior Financial Integration Engineer

GuzoGo is expanding its travel platform connecting flights, global hotels, tours, and transport with local and international payment options. We are looking for exceptional engineers who can build reliable systems, solve complex integration challenges, and take ownership of production services.

ROLES

1. Senior Backend Engineers

Your responsibilities

• Build backend services for search, bookings, pricing, agency access, and payments.

• Integrate travel suppliers, banks, and payment providers.

• Improve API performance, database design, caching, and background processing.

• Implement automated testing, monitoring, and effective production troubleshooting.

What we’re looking for

• Strong backend development experience using Node.js and TypeScript.

• Practical knowledge of MongoDB, Redis, REST APIs, queues, and AWS.

• Experience managing concurrent requests, retries, duplicate events, and partial failures.

• Evidence of delivering and maintaining production systems.

2. Systems Architect / Backend Architect

Your responsibilities

• Lead architecture across booking, supplier integrations, payments, and agency services.

• Define service boundaries, data flows, security controls, and integration standards.

• Design for availability, scalability, recovery, and cost efficiency.

• Guide engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical decisions.

What we’re looking for

• Demonstrated ownership of complex production architecture.

• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, databases, and application security.

• Experience with transaction consistency, event-driven workflows, observability, and disaster recovery.

• Ability to explain technical trade-offs clearly and translate designs into working software.

3. Senior Financial Integration Engineer — Banks & Payments

Your responsibilities

• Integrate banks, mobile money, payment gateways, and payment APIs.

• Build reliable payment initiation, verification, callbacks, refunds, and reconciliation.

• Design transaction records and audit trails covering collections, agency advance payments, commissions, and settlements.

• Handle timeouts, duplicate callbacks, reversals, and differences between payment and booking status.

• Work with financial partners through testing, certification, and production launch.

What we’re looking for

• Hands-on experience delivering bank, mobile money, or payment gateway integrations.

• Strong understanding of payment lifecycles, idempotency, reconciliation, settlement, and secure authentication.

• Ability to investigate transaction discrepancies and implement reliable recovery processes.

• Experience with Ethiopian banking systems or mobile wallet is a strong advantage.
