Senior Technical Assistant

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join SWISSMA BUILDING TECHNOLOGIES SDN BHD' as a Senior Technical Executive. As a Senior Technical Executive, you will play a crucial role in supporting the company's construction projects in the Shah Alam, Selangor area. This is a full-time position that will allow you to utilise your technical expertise and contribute to the success of the organisation.

What you'll be doing

1. Creating detailed 2D & 3D shop drawings, plans and schematics using CAD software
2. Interpreting design briefs and translating them into technical drawings
3. Collaborating with architects, engineers and other professionals to unsure drawings meet project requirement
4. Updating and revising drawings based on client feeedback and design changes
5. Maintaining accuracy and attention to detail in all technical drawings
6. Ensuring compliance with relevant building regulations and industry standards
7. Prepare proposal drawing submissions to sales & marketing departments
8. Coordinate on matters relating to code compliance
9. Inspect all drawings for code compliance, drafting standards and plan presentations before submission and provide advice to colleagues on non-compliance
10. Liaise with consultants on all matters relating to code compliance
11. Assist in preparation and checking of drawings for buildability and coordination with consultants
12. Proficiency in CAD operation
13. Drafter with BIM knowledge and skill will be welcome and preferred
14. Conversant in statutory code and requirements
15. Able to work independently in fast paced working environment
16. Coordinating with production department for technical cut-list preparation
17. Coordinating with project department for shop drawings and as-built drawing submissions/preparations

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical or contracts management role within the construction industry
2. Strong understanding of construction regulations, standards, and best practices
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders
4. Proficient in contract drafting, negotiation, and administration
5. Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technical issues
6. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and mentor junior team members
7. Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, construction management, or a related field
