About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Technical Claims Advisor to join our Claims team at AutoProtect in Harlow.

This is a varied role where you’ll be responsible for managing and resolving claims across a range of products, making sure they are handled accurately, efficiently and fairly.

Alongside managing your own claims, you’ll use your knowledge and experience to provide technical advice and support to the wider Claims team, including reviewing and validating high-value claims.

You’ll be speaking with customers regularly, so we’re looking for someone who can combine strong claims knowledge with excellent customer service and the confidence to handle more complex situations.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Providing accurate claims advice across a range of products
• Managing and resolving claims by telephone, email and online
• Gathering the information and documentation needed to assess and progress claims
• Reviewing and validating high-value claims in line with our referral process
• Providing technical advice and support to colleagues within the Claims team
• Ensuring valid claims are settled fairly and in line with company and industry guidelines
• Understanding individual customer requirements and ensuring these are handled appropriately
• Managing complaints associated with claims and completing manager callbacks where required
• Supporting the Sales team with accurate and timely information
• Managing the administration associated with your claims
• Working towards agreed service levels and KPIs while maintaining a professional and friendly service

What We’re Looking For

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience in insurance product administration and claims resolution
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Confidence dealing with customers and resolving more complex queries
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good listening skills and attention to detail
• The ability to make sound decisions and use your initiative
• Good planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise a busy workload
• The ability to work effectively under pressure, both independently and as part of a team
• Good Microsoft Word and Excel skills

Previous experience working within an FCA-regulated environment would be beneficial, but isn’t essential.
