Senior Technical Designer

About the Role

We are looking for a Technical Designer to join our growing design team and play a key role in delivering innovative retail and interior architecture projects from concept through completion. Working closely with Project Designers, Architects, Consultants, and Contractors, you will translate creative vision into detailed technical documentation, ensuring every project is delivered with precision, quality, and efficiency.

What You'll Be Doing

Technical Design & Documentation

• Produce accurate and comprehensive technical drawings, construction details, and documentation packages.
• Develop design solutions that align with architectural, structural, MEP, and interior design requirements.
• Coordinate and integrate consultant information into project documentation.
• Maintain drafting and documentation standards throughout all project stages.
• Review and resolve technical design issues, detailing requirements, and material selections.

Project Coordination & Delivery

• Work closely with Project Designers to ensure design intent is accurately translated into technical deliverables.
• Manage and review shop drawings, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with internal CAD teams to produce high-quality documentation packages.
• Monitor documentation schedules and deliverables to support project timelines.
• Attend project meetings, record key decisions, and follow up on technical requirements.

Problem Solving & Quality Assurance

• Research and propose technical solutions to construction and design challenges.
• Ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated, and ready for construction.
• Identify risks and clashes early to support smooth project delivery.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of studio standards and best practices.

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

• 2 to 4 years of experience in a Technical Designer, Interior Architectural Designer, Architectural Draftsperson, or similar technical design role.
• Experience delivering retail, commercial, hospitality, or interior fit-out projects.
• Strong understanding of construction detailing, technical documentation, and design coordination.
• Experience taking projects through multiple phases, from design development to construction completion.

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (essential).
• Working knowledge of Revit, SketchUp, and Photoshop.
• Strong technical drawing and detailing capabilities.
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Experience reviewing shop drawings and construction documentation.

Professional Skills

• Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Detail-oriented with a high standard of accuracy and quality.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Bonus Points If You Have

• Experience delivering retail projects for international brands.
• BIM/Revit coordination experience.
• Exposure to large-scale retail or commercial developments.
• Experience working with overseas consultants, contractors, or regional project teams.
