Senior Technical Designer

About the role

Senior Technical Designer role focused on producing and managing detailed technical and construction drawing packages, translating design concepts into technically feasible solutions, and ensuring buildability and cost-efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and manage detailed technical and construction drawing packages, including plans, elevations, sections, and large-scale details
• Translate design concepts into technically feasible solutions, ensuring buildability and cost-efficiency
• Review and coordinate shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and technical submissions from contractors and vendors
• Ensure all drawings and documentation comply with local building codes, regulations, and authority requirements
• Work closely with designers, project managers, and clients to resolve technical issues and discrepancies
• Monitor progress on site and take responsibility for design quality, accuracy and overall user experience
• Manage drawing revisions, version control, and as-built documentation
• Identify potential technical risks and propose practical solutions during design development and construction stages
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior team members, ensuring drawing accuracy and consistency

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or any related field
• 4-5 years of relevant experience in interior design, with a strong focus on technical detailing and construction documentation
• Experience working with interior retail shops
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of SketchUp, Revit, or other BIM tools is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of materials, construction methods, and detailing practices
• Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and submission processes
• Excellent problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
