Job Summary

Desert Man Transporting & Contracting LLC (DMTC) is seeking an experienced and technically proficient Senior Technical Engineer to oversee technical engineering activities, coordinate with project teams, review technical documentation and ensure that construction works comply with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards and applicable regulations.

The successful candidate will provide technical support to project execution teams, resolve engineering issues, coordinate with consultants and subcontractors, review technical submissions and assist project management in delivering projects safely, efficiently and within the approved schedule and budget.

The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities and proven experience in civil construction, infrastructure or related engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, method statements and project documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and engineering support to project managers, site engineers and construction teams.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors and internal departments to resolve technical issues.
• Review technical submittals, material approvals, shop drawings and requests for information (RFIs), as applicable to the project.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality requirements and project standards.
• Identify design discrepancies, site constraints and technical risks, and recommend appropriate corrective solutions.
• Assist in preparing technical reports, progress reports, engineering calculations and project documentation.
• Coordinate technical meetings and follow up on outstanding engineering issues and action items.
• Support project planning and execution by providing technical input on construction methods, resources and work sequencing.
• Monitor engineering deliverables and ensure timely submission of required technical documents.
• Coordinate with the QA/QC team to address technical non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, project requirements, HSE standards and applicable UAE regulations.
• Evaluate proposed technical changes and assist in assessing their impact on project cost, quality and schedule.
• Support procurement and project teams in reviewing material specifications and technical requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to engineering and site personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of drawings, revisions, technical correspondence, approvals and engineering decisions.
• Perform other technical and engineering duties assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8–10 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in construction, infrastructure, roadworks or contracting projects.
• Proven experience in technical engineering, construction coordination and engineering documentation.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documents.
• Experience coordinating with consultants, clients, subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Knowledge of QA/QC procedures, technical submissions, method statements, RFIs and project documentation.
• Familiarity with relevant UAE construction standards, project specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering software, such as AutoCAD.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple technical issues and meet project deadlines.
• UAE driving licence is preferred.
